Dia dhuit, Jack Mackenna is ainm dom, agus tá seo mo blag. Tá mé na hÉireann-hAstráile ulchabhán-buachaill. Is brea liom "Doctor Who" agus "Sherlock". Agus phornagrafaíocht.
Maith dom mo chuid Gaeilge bhriste; tá mé ag foghlaim - ach is fearr Gaeilge briste ná Béarla cliste<3 Don't step on people to achieve your own ends. You don't have to fuck your own friends over to survive. I prefer gender-neutral pronouns.

I need to learn more about the gender binary being a white, European, colonialist idea
It’s a murder trial, not fucking Twilight.
Chris Rock
see, this is something that aforementioned idiot should listen to. if you think racial equality exists because we have the same purported opportunity to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, ask if we even started at the same point, when people of color didn’t even have the same opportunities to set up a foundation for the life of this generation. you think your white grandparents got the same jobs as a person of color’s grandparents, so that they could retire and you would know they’d have access to healthcare? you think your white family was offered the same rates (or even chances) for home loans as a family of color’s so that you didn’t have to work a job through high school to meet rent? you think that your mother worrying if you’re going to get into a good college is hard enough? what if on top of that, your mother also had to worry that you might get gunned down in the street because of the color of your skin?
i’m sorry buddy, but you are wrong, and chris rock is so, so right.

”See, the black man gotta fly to get to somethin’ the white man can walk to.”
My Abuela expressed the exact same thing to me about being Mexican. “Mija, you have to fight twice as hard, to go twice as fast, to climb twice as high to be noticed half as much. You have to be twice as smart to get half the acknowledgement. Because you are Mestiza, you are a Mexican, you are a woman, and no white person will ever see you as anything other than a maid or nanny unless you MAKE them.”

I’ve seen discussion this morning of appropriation, racism (regarding dressing up and using racist slurs), and ‘white hipsters’.
However, it’s not just white people who use the word gypsy, dress up in costume, or even wear headdresses.
For example, here is an Asian girl…
“Don’t claim ancestry less than 1/4” is a good rule I think.
Bloods and Crips: Made in America (2008)
Caught this on Netflix the other night. A documentary that takes a really interesting look at the notorious Crips and Bloods. It deals with the social, cultural and economic issues that impact society within and outside of its boundaries. Doesn’t go into the meaty details about the gangs at all, but more of the history of South Central L.A. through the Civil Rights Movement, black activism in the 60’s/70’s, and all the race riots that happened.
great documentary
First thing that needs to be noted is that we just had another police shooting of an unarmed man in Austin, Texas on Thursday night.. This happened after the report was compiled, so add another name to this grisly toll..
Note that none of them were proven to be armed, except for one who was apparently wielding a cane as a deadly weapon.

Everybody in the world has the right to draw inspiration from their own people’s legacy, and this right is robbed from black children because their history is actively hidden, distorted, and replaced with make-believe.
"
omg all these people making posts about terrible things PoC have done to white people and asking why they’re not getting national attention like George Zimmerman did for murdering a black kid

just stop saying the things you are saying and get a clue
The criminalization of black America
- There are more African American adults under correctional control today — in prison or jail, on probation or parole — than were enslaved in 1850, a decade before the Civil War began.
- As of 2004, more African American men were disenfranchised (due to felon disenfranchisement laws) than in 1870, the year the Fifteenth Amendment was ratified, prohibiting laws that explicitly deny the right to vote on the basis of race.
- A black child born today is less likely to be raised by both parents than a black child born during slavery. The recent disintegration of the African American family is due in large part to the mass imprisonment of black fathers.
- If you take into account prisoners, a large majority of African American men in some urban areas have been labeled felons for life. (In the Chicago area, the figure is nearly 80%.) These men are part of a growing undercaste — not class, caste — permanently relegated, by law, to a second-class status. They can be denied the right to vote, automatically excluded from juries, and legally discriminated against in employment, housing, access to education, and public benefits, much as their grandparents and great-grandparents were during the Jim Crow era.
but you guys, racism totally ended in 1968! Everything is FINE now!
